Where is my data stored?
In a local database on your phone. On iPhone, Flashy also keeps a backup in your private iCloud Drive (tied to your Apple Account) so you can restore on a new phone or after a reinstall. On Android, your database and card images are included in Google Auto Backup. We never see either. Deleting the app deletes the local data. The only thing Flashy ever sends us is an anonymous crash report when something breaks, and it contains no card content.
Moving to a new phone?
On iPhone, install Flashy, sign in to the same iCloud account, and it offers to restore your decks on first launch. You can also back up or restore any time from Settings inside the app. On Android, Google Auto Backup handles it — your decks are there when you sign in to the same Google account. Standard device-to-device migration works on both platforms.
Does the AI send my notes anywhere?
No. Card generation runs entirely on your device using the built-in AI in modern iPhones — your notes never leave your phone, and it works offline. It needs a recent iPhone with Apple Intelligence; on older devices you can still write and import cards as usual.
Can I move my decks over from Anki or Quizlet?
Yes. Flashy imports Anki .apkg and .colpkg packages (images included), Anki .txt exports, CSV files, and text pasted from Quizlet’s export screen.
What is FSRS?
Free Spaced Repetition Scheduler — an open, modern algorithm that models your memory to pick the ideal moment for each review. It’s the scheduler serious learners switch to; Flashy uses it out of the box.
